Bend Homes - Central Oregon Real Estate Vertical

launch: April 2016

Real estate vertical portal for the Bend Oregon market. BendHomes.com features live data updates from Cental Oregon Association of Realtors which uses a RETS/Rapatonni API endpoint. A custom middleware layer was built using the PHRETS open source PHP library as a starting point and built to fully automate property data importation into the main Wordpress infrastructure. BendHomes.com can be managed by internal staff for featured homes and for selling advertising packages. Hosted on Amazon Web Services at the Oregon datacenter.

The Residents Foudation - Willamette View

An informational website for a non-profit that provides for retirement financing for retiress in need at the Willamette View facility in Porland, Oregon. The site is Wordpress built using Bootstrap 3 and SCSS as a base theme and the was custom built to follow an agency's design.

The Bulletin daily Top Headlines newsletter

launch: July 2014

The Bulletin's daily newsletter which is fed by an RSS XML feed to MailChimp. Doing so includes creating a custom taxonomy in the backend application where news editors can choose which stories to feature daily, by 7:30am. Built AJAX signup forms and e-mail markup is resposive, as much as possible with modern e-mail clients. Litmus tested.

Issuu / Replica Print Publication Viewer

launch: April 2014

A web app for readers to view 'replica' print editons of daily and weekly publications. To deploy to new sites a domain is established and new Issuu folder entries are added to a central configuration file. This application ntegrates with the Issuu.com API and Syncronex Paymenter. Built using CodeIgniter and Bootstrap 3.

NCS ExportRunner data parser

launch: October 2013

A one time use application to transport and transform 250,000 news articles and article images from a legacy CMS to a new one. App parses NITF XML, encodes it correctly to UTF-8, stored, and then new taxonomy was applied to each article from a custom built taxonomy matching table. Built using the CodeIgniter PHP framework.

The Bulletin (Bend Oregon USA daily newspaper)

launch: October 2013

One million pageviews per month daily newspaper website. Server side programming using Intersystesms Caché ObjectScript which works with NCS Unlimted (DTI Content) news production software. Front end markup is built using Bootstrap 3 (HMTL5 and responsive), jQuery, and SASS/SCSS. All front end CSS and JavaScript is hosted at Amazon AWS to allow for low latency and GIT version control. With the work of co-developer, completely migrated to this platform in four months using the modern site building methodology. Within the past two years with continuous iterations of code, new features, and marketing have increased site traffic by 100%.

A responsive design Wordpress theme to match BendBulletin.com. Built using Bootstrap 3, HTML5, and jQuery. Blog posts on this portfolio archived portfolio view is filler content.

Fiddlehead Landscapes

launch: July 2008

Website built in Joomla content management system. Includes custom photo gallery and stresses easy content manipulation by client. Site built as a team with outside designer providing and Adobe Illustrator composition, copywriting by outside writer, outside photographer, and programming done by myself. Site built for easy usability, load speed, and ultimately generate sales leads for Fiddlehead Landscapes.

Center for Community Change "Building the Power of Many" fundraising sub-site

Website created for fundraising event. Designed and coded site. Use of CSS for site layout, using tables when necessary. Page customization using PHP. Used Get Active donation module for payment shopping cart. Supported by Get Active e-mail marketing.

Actions Speak Louder

Designed and coded website, extensive use of PHP and CSS. Site was created to help CCC put a message out they were concerned about the FY'2006 Federal budget. Components include Weblog, Get Active advocacy, and deep background on the Federal Budget.

Fair Immigration Reform Movement

CCC's website concerning immigration. Site designed by outside designer. Website was over-coded and has since been streamlined. Responsible for new content areas and general maintenance of the site.

Sub-site for a campaign to keep a college age woman for being deported. Site designed by outside designer with creative direction from myself. Components include Weblog, Get Active advocacy, and deep background on Marie.
